A neck support like this one from SUPER SHIELD is highly recommended for all off-road and motocross bikers. It makes for a more relaxed ride as well as greatly reducing the strain on your neck muscles. The weight of your helmet (inertia of the mass) puts a strain on your neck, spine, muscles, ligaments and tendons every time you pull away, brake, jump or take a bend when riding off-road. The neck support absorbs a lot of these stresses and strains and distributes them over a wider area.
